WHAT IS THE GOOD NEWS ABOUT EXERCISE AND FITNESS?

What is the good news about exercising for fitness? After years of working out, I can tell you that the best news about it is that it gives you confidence about yourself. Especially when you look in the mirror and see that your body looks better with some tone and some muscle definition--maybe not as much as you would like to have, but better than you looked before you started to exercise. But gaining self-confidence is not the only good news. There is more. With a good work out program that is safe and consistently performed, week-by-week, your health will improve, at least to the extent that is possible for you and to the extent that you put a genuine effort into your workout. But if you do not workout safely and injure yourself, that is counterproductive. If you have not worked out before, it is good to get some professional training with a certified instructor at least until you learn the proper and safe ways to work out. There are usually one or more instructors available at reasonable rates in a good health club or gym. But back to the good news. In addition to gaining confidence in yourself and improving your health, you will probably also make new friends that also like to be fit, and you will find that when your appearance is more healthy looking you will command more respect from people. You know that if you are a person who has to deal with the public, such in a sales position, your appearance is an important factor in your success. Also this is where your self confidence becomes important. A self-confident person is a more effective leader, manager, salesperson, doctor, lawyer, or as whatever your work is.
